Concerts

by on Apr.23, 2009, under General, Travel

Went to a concert that was part of some degree requirement for a pair of instructors. The performance was quite good, though I don’t think I properly appreciated the white-Brit boy rappers. They seemed to have established the whole gesturing and strutting thing with the wardrobe but I think they need a bit more practice on the diction and synching. Otherwise for the other groups the instrumental work was good, lighting was passable, video playback was clever, vocals good (though couldn’t understand the rapper guest spots), overall audio for the setting was about right for the save of space and the clarity was pretty good.

Got the cd’s of the show and will be adding them to my regular playlist and a t-shirt,  not sure how often that will be out but probably some to invoke questions on what its about with it’s bit ‘Made in England’ text. Sat by a pair of attractive girls hoping that my skull didn’t explode from the head cold. Also not keen on being front row for many reasons: don’t like having to gawk upward, dislike having my back to the crowd, anonymity sort of destroyed when the performers can see you and know the people you are sitting by as work colleagues.

Hoping to kick this damn bug which I’m going to name the ‘Grimsby Plague’ as I’ve been told this thing has been through most of the students already following their last performance just took awhile to sneak around and catch me. Got back and checked messages before bed and found one from home saying dad was ill and in hospital so that’s something else to worry about, can’t visit him when I get back till I kick the damn illness since he’s on immune suppression treatment already for something that knocked him down back in November.
